The Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) has launched Global Money Week, a campaign aimed at empowering young people with financial literacy skills. The initiative, held at Bangwe Community Day Secondary School in Blantyre, emphasizes the importance of adopting a saving culture from an early age.

RBM Chief Examiner Madalitso Chamba highlighted the progress made in promoting financial literacy among young people. She stressed that targeting children with financial literacy programs is crucial, as it helps them develop strong saving habits that will benefit them throughout their lives.

Students at the launch acknowledged the significance of financial literacy, recognizing that it enables them to make informed financial decisions. This year's Global Money Week theme, "Think Before You Follow, Wise Money Tomorrow," serves as a reminder to young people to think critically about their financial choices.
